Companies cannot create value and innovate with suppliers without close relationships. The ability to develop, maintain and sometimes dissolve relationships is therefore critical for procurement managers, especially with suppliers that have status as partners or critical suppliers.
In this course, we zoom in on the key elements of close social relationships and how they are affected by procurement behavior. We also discuss methods and processes of managing and developing close relationships. Conflict management is included because conflict is inevitable in supplier relationships. Finally, we look at how companies can manage their customer attractiveness to create supplier satisfaction and possibly achieve preferred customer status.
